Daniel Craig: Studios are dangerous

Daniel Craig finds “fibreglass studios” more dangerous than performing stunts in the Wild West.

The 43-year-old British actor is currently promoting sci-fi thriller Cowboys & Aliens, where he stars as Arizona’s bravest cowboy Jake Lonergan.

The hunk participated in some rather daring aerobatics, although joked that he injured himself more once back inside what he considered to be the safety of the studio.

“Funnily enough I picked up more bruises in the studio when we got back to L.A. than when we were out filming I think,” he laughed to Cover Media.

“Everything is made of fibreglass and that seems to scrape and bruise you.”

Daniel is best known for his role playing suave secret agent James Bond in the eponymous film franchise. The next instalment, Bond 23, will hit cinemas next year, and Daniel admits the part is very different to his cowboy alter ego. Daniel did struggle with some Cowboys & Aliens scenes, and was hugely grateful that the stunt team were around to take over when it became too dangerous.

“It was just different. I don’t get to ride many horses in Bond, that was the main distinction,” he smiled.

“I’m no expert at horse riding; a lot of what you see is my brilliant doubles and brilliant stunt men.”
