David Arquette will only take his shirt off on Dancing with the Stars when he’s worked out enough.

The actor is one of the celebrities competing on the upcoming series of the television talent show. The groups were unveiled yesterday, and David was happy to talk about what’s in store for viewers.

Los Angeles Lakers stars Ron Artest is also competing, and whipped off his shirt at the event to launch the new season yesterday. David didn’t follow suit, but might do later.

“I’m sure I’m going to have to take my shirt off, hopefully it’ll be down the line when I’ve worked out enough and I’m ready,” he laughed. “I'll bring my own situation!”

The star added his estranged wife Courteney Cox-Arquette and their seven-year-old daughter Coco can’t wait to see him strutting on the dance floor. Both intend to support him from the audience when the show starts.

“Courteney’s been really great. She’s just the best. She’s my best friend, we’re really supportive despite where our relationship stands right now,” he told ET Online.

Rob Kardashian is also competing and joked he planned to go topless too but decided against it at the last minute.

It seems athlete Ron wishes he had done the same, as the underwhelming reaction to his chest made him blush.

“I feel like everybody was there to see me, so I took my shirt off,” Ron explained. “I made a fool of myself, but that's OK.”

Other stars competing on the programme include Chaz Bono, whose parents are Cher and Sonny Bono. Chaz underwent gender reassignment surgery to become a man last year.

The Hills star Kristin Cavallari, talk show host Ricki Lake, singer/actress Chynna Philips and George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis will also be competing.

The group is rounded out with Carson Kressley, Nancy Grace, J.R. Martinez and Hope Solo.

The thirteenth series of Dancing with the Stars premieres on September 19.
