Orlando Bloom says being a father is “the gift of gifts”.

The British actor and wife Miranda Kerr welcomed son Flynn in January this year. Orlando has been involved in a number of film and humanitarian projects over the last couple of years, but admits that having his first baby was the most momentous occasion of all.

The 34-year-old star is thrilled to have entered a new phase of his life.

“Yes, I am a father now, which is kind of a new responsibility. It is amazing. I know it’s a huge change, but I was part of some very big trilogies and I just took a couple of years to do some theatre in London and travel a bit and I did some work with UNICEF and it has been really great. In the process of all that I had a baby, which is the gift of gifts, it doesn’t get much better than that,” he gushed in an interview with British TV show Lorraine.

“A lot has been happening.”

Orlando is starring in the upcoming remake of The Three Musketeers. The Hollywood hunk plays the Duke of Buckingham in the popular action adventure story, and is thrilled to be part of such an iconic piece of literature.

“It is enjoyable. It is a classic story,” he explained.

“The Three Musketeers has been done for every generation and is one of those stories for our time that speaks to everyone.”
