A whole ship worth of green eggs has caused an international incident. The eggs themselves look pretty harmless but when they get to hot or near a human being they explode and kill anyone around them. They cause these nearby people to literally explode form their stomachs and melt from their faces and hands. It isnt until a group of scientists set out to explore the origines of the eggs that the mystery deepens and the horrors grow.

I am going to warn you now that the following film is a very poor imitation of that great film Alien. The film is not only a poor version of Alien but it is a rather laborious attempt at it. The story starts out at quite a pace. Its first twenty minutes or first act is interesting in what it wants to examine. That is to say the eggs themselves, their origins and their apparent powers. When however it starts to develop the narrative of find the source, destroy the source it crumbles. The problem is that it wants to have a half decent story structure but not enough plot or drive. We have to care about or heros and we have to be taken through their peaks and pains. We are not even taken anywhere remotely near these things and instead feel a dull ache as the story moves to astronauts and coffee cartels.

Visually the film also has major problems. The effects flit between excellent and grizzly, such as the chest explosions and excellent sets that are occasionally quite inventive and delightful. The grizzly is the dire Alien overload. This is awful and in places comical. This hurts the credibility of the piece but in truth that was shed long ago. The film does not want credible film makers to take it seriously. It was designed to take your cash and run for the hills. It is not my place to say that Italian films of the period are almost universally awful. They are far from it and some are very good. This film is a low point in this movement and only really should be seen by film fans or cult types.
