Corman’s World: Exploits Of A Hollywood Rebel is not only extremely entertaining but also extremely informative.

This documentary boasts countless movie clips, as well as contributions by Peter Bogdanovich, Ron Howard, Jack Nicholson, Joe Dante, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Peter Fonda, Pam Grier, David Carradine, William Shatner, Jonathan Demme (to name but a few!), and of course the maestro himself. Offering a fascinating insight into the world of a cinematic rebel, the film discusses how Corman’s B-movie classics like ‘Creature From The Haunted Sea’, ‘War Of The Satellites’ and ‘The Wild Angels’ provided the inspiration to Spielberg’s ‘Jaws’, George Lucas’ ‘Star Wars’ and Hopper’s ‘Easy Rider’ (Peter Fonda starred in both ‘The Wild Angels’ and ‘Easy Rider’). Corman’s cult adaptations of E.A. Poe’s stories and poems get of course a special mention.

Jack Nicholson, who kick-started his career in the Corman classics ‘The Little Shop Of Horrors’, ‘The Raven’ and ‘The Terror’, speaks not only highly but also very fondly of the acclaimed director, who is also a friend. “Once in a while, he even makes good movies”, says Nicholson with a twinkle in his eye. In contrast, director Eli Roth observes that, “Corman is a rather square looking guy but who makes all these crazy movies”.

The docu comes both in DVD and also in Blu-ray format, with the trailer as an added bonus.
An absolute ‘must’ not only for fans of Corman but for movie buffs the world over!
