George spends his time up town with his favorite lady friend Molly, He thinks that his philandering ways will not be discovered by his long suffering wife. Little does he know that his wife is up to it as well and with his assistant and right hand man. Neither suspect what the other is doing but when a revelation about Molly getting engaged reveals that almost everyone is in the frame for mischief.

This is the sort of film that British cinema did so well in the mid to late 30s. Filled with fast and witty dialogue that slaps you about and makes you smile. The film feels stagey but not in a bad way and the performers want to ham it up, which they do delightfully and with real gusto! I found this so good, I had to watch it again. This will help you pick out the little elements of the father and the wife. Houses are spaces of great play for film makers of this period and you can see the mis en scene was in on the joke.

It is clever comedy of manners and should be a treat for anyone who likes a laugh which isn't too taxing or too slapstick. This will not be for everyone but once again network get it right and get the goods out to the audience. My only complaint is that DVD itself. It needs additional features like subtitles and chapters to start. It will also need a documentary or trailers for afters....
