Its a difficult thing to write a synopsis for. Yes we have seen this before and yes it was a collection of 26 short films that take a word and make a film about it. Also once again the only thing that links them is that it must be in the Horror genre and must be at least connectable to the word it is using. Then, you ask directors from around the globe to contribute and you make young and up coming actors to feature. The stories can be about anything and filmed in any format, style and even mix genre types (animated horror and holiday horror).

Of course it would also be right of me to say that in truth you had a very mixed bag of terrible and brilliant in the first outing. You get that here to, with a few films sticking out as great works among a bag of fodder and middle school sleaze. Within in these great films are some real gems. Mashed up with well told, simple stories and great VFX. Some blood splattered gore and even a abstracted animation that is on par with Gondry. Playing with form as these greats do, they also show you how great the idea is. You take a few good film makers and give them a chance to sell their wears and make a film. We all want this and this in turn helps us to see their work and people like me make these films. Given some of the excrement that is around this is refreshing indeed.

Now to the bad films, which this has a few. These are short enough to lack caring about but are a little more than they should have been. They often play on bigotry and xenophobia. The film that left this more than any other was a 'holiday horror' that sees a family slaughter two horrible smirking teens, on a sex driven holiday. In its defense I would add that they may have found it hard to find a story with the word given. A bit vague from me but this is how i will conclude. I don't want to spoil what is a worthwhile watch in places. I do hope monster keep up the work of supplying these films to the market!
