Bruce is a likely lad. Football, drinking and girls are his stock in trade. A cocky, party guy who loves to live it and large. He has just come back from his brow beaten and softer hearted brothers wedding, when he is unable to stand up. Taken to hospital, he is diagnosed with an illness that means he may never walk again. Transferred to a home for the disabled, he finds life to be a weight and he cant carry it. Things change however when he falls for a girl, Jill.

Bryan Forbes was a director and actor of power and passion. He starred in many great films and even wrote one too. The L shaped room and the Stepford Wives are his most well known and best. The Raging Moon os an odd shaped gem in his work. By turns a love story and others a social commentary, it is an awesome feat. We have familiar ground here with a damaged man and love that saves him. We also have disability and frank treatment of relationships across a divide. You expect this from a director that took on back street abortion. However you do not expect the subject to be handled so delicately. By todays standards it does not shock or challenge. It does however still have a kick in its ending which I will not spoil.

The dvd is very good and has been given.a fresh print that looks great and sounds superb. I saw a copy on VHS as a youth and it is 500 times an improvement on that. Second sight have treated with care and consideration but add little extra to its mix. Buy it and try it.
