Jennifer Lawrence thinks her tailbone “still looks weird” from her days of being “thrown off” horses.

The 21-year-old plays heroine Katniss Everdeen in the much talked-about movie The Hunger Games. Her character is selected to take part in the annual tournament in futuristic America where 24 boys and girls fight to their death on live TV.

Jennifer has a lot of Katniss’ fighter nature in her – but admits her rebellious spirit hasn’t always paid off.

“I am from Kentucky and grew up with horses. I got thrown off countless times, I even broke my tailbone. It still looks weird today,” she told German magazine TV Movie.

Jennifer prepared intensely before taking on the coveted role of Katniss. The beauty says her training routine was unwavering for a few months, and during filming.

“I had to run, jump and climb for four hours daily because Katniss is on the run half of the movie. And she is very graceful doing so. I stretched into that flexibility with yoga,” she explained.

Jennifer believes The Hunger Games is poignant. The star thinks the disturbing nature of the film reflects what’s on TV screens today.

“Just look at our reality soaps. We see human beings cheating, celebrating drugs or alcohol excesses. It has made us numb. This movie brings that to the boil,” she said.

Jennifer has been tipped for massive success for her lead role in the action-thriller. She admits she is still getting used to Hollywood.

“I hated LA in the beginning. Always driving by car and this crazy traffic. And all these crazy people...” she mused. “Sometimes I still cannot believe that I am a part of Hollywood now. But I don’t really live in the middle of the hornets’ nest but very quietly at the beach.”

Jennifer hasn’t lost her sense of self though, adding: “I don’t think I am special – I am more of a funny person. I always say things that don’t make sense. And sometimes I am the loudest person at the table. That can be really embarrassing!”
