Meryl Streep auctions off Devil Wears Prada 2 wardrobe

Meryl Streep is taking centre stage at an auction of apparel from The Devil Wears Prada 2.

After starring as Miranda Priestley in the sequel 20 years after the original film, the three time Oscar-winner has conceived an online auction of wardrobe pieces, taking place on Christies.com between 1 and 15 September.

Proceeds will benefit the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

Featuring Miranda's Dries Van Noten tassel jacket, a Bad Binch TongTong by Terrence Zhou feather dress worn by Lady Gaga, Andy's signature cerulean sweater and more, the pieces will be on display in a free public exhibition from 8 to 13 September at Christie's New York.

Premiering in April to a $691 million (£514 million) global haul, The Devil Wears Prada 2 saw the return of Streep as Miranda, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling, as the editorial team struggles in a landscape of declining print media.
