Andrew Garfield 'addicted' to scrolling on his 'secret' Instagram account

Andrew Garfield has revealed he has a "secret" Instagram account.

In a recent interview for Variety, The Amazing Spider-Man actor confirmed that he does use social media despite not having any official accounts.

"I'm as addicted as anybody. My screen time notifications are horrific to me. It's like, I've given all of those hours to nothing," he sighed to the outlet. "It's genuinely enraging because we don't have as much control over these impulses as we should, and it's been by design. It's pretty dark when you look at it."

Andrew went on to explain that he follows people who make "weird ceramics" and Japanese "craftspeople".

Previously, the Hacksaw Ridge star admitted he decided to steer clear of all social media since appearing as Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin in the 2010 drama The Social Network.

Elsewhere in the interview, Andrew confessed that he sometimes thinks about leaving Hollywood behind.

"I've worked a lot this year. I've done like 11 months, 12 months, straight back-to-back projects. I want people to see those projects, so I'm gonna have to tell people about them. I get that," the 43-year-old added. "But if I had my druthers, people would just see them, and I could go whittle wood in the Somerset countryside and think about what the birds might be doing."

Andrew has been promoting the fantasy adventure movie, The Magic Faraway Tree, and will next appear in Luca Guadagnino's new film, Artificial.

In Artificial, the actor plays OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman, with the plot centring on his controversial firing in 2023. The project does not yet have an official release date.
