Kid Cudi gearing up to shoot second directorial feature

Kid Cudi is preparing to film his second feature as a director.

The musician and actor, real name Scott Mescudi, revealed on X over the weekend that he is about to go into production on his second feature, even though his directorial debut, Doe, has yet to be released.

"I shoot my next film in a few weeks and I'm so f**kin hyped," he wrote. "Sometimes I cant believe this is all happening. Officially a filmmaker. Get ready. Next year we introduce em to writer/director Cud (sic)."

Cudi continued, "Two movies in a year. Both very different from the other. Doe, my directorial debut, will premiere next year, and my next film will premiere in the late summer."

The 42-year-old made the transition into directing earlier this year with Doe, which he described as "a really intense drama, 24hrs in the life (of) an addict who's living on the streets in LA (sic)".

He also stars in his film, acting alongside Brandon Perea, Mark Webber, Leah McNamara and Brandon Scott, and has recorded original songs for its soundtrack.

Cudi divulged that his sophomore feature will be a horror-thriller with comedy elements.

"(It's got) lot of laughs, but its f**kin gnarly (sic). I am a firm believer in mixing horror with comedy. So I incorporated that into it," he wrote.

Cudi, whose acting credits include Don't Look Up, X, Need for Speed and Westworld, screened Doe for a bunch of his friends - including Perea, Alex Winter and Robert Pattinson - in April.

"It was such a good feeling hearing them raving about the film, talking about different things they noticed, and being blown away we were able to shoot the whole thing in 9 DAYS on a micro budget," he captioned the post.

Between his film projects, Cudi has been busy with music, embarking on a 32-date North American tour between late April and late June.
