Tyra Banks has "beef" with Halloween: Resurrection.

An agent persuaded the model to play Nora Winston, a producer documenting teenagers as they try to flee killer Michael Myers for a livestreamed show, in the 2002 slasher, arguing that appearing in the horror franchise could give her a career boost, just as it did for Josh Hartnett, 48, who played John Tate in 1998's Halloween H20.

He also promised Banks an iconic death scene that audiences would remember forever, but the plan backfired.

The star told Entertainment Weekly that she was "promised the career of Josh Hartnett, of an actor, and promised an iconic death scene that will last forever, and neither of them happened".

Although Nora does die in the movie, her full death scene was cut, and viewers only catch a brief glimpse of the character's body.

Banks quipped: "So, I have beef with Halloween 8!"

Asked whether she looks back fondly on making the film, she said: "No. Not even a little bit. Like, not even a tiny bit."

Banks initially rejected the movie when the unnamed agent pitched it to her.

She recalled: "I was like, 'I’m not going to do that.' What is it going to do for my career? I’m a model, and I need to do things that are kind of different to get this acting career that I want.

"He was like, 'No, Josh Hartnett did Halloween, and look what he’s doing now!'"

It convinced Banks to take the role of Nora, but she was disappointed not to receive the career boost the agent had pointed to with Hartnett and that her death scene was cut.

She said: “So I was like, yeah, OK, this is going to do it for me.

"Not only did it not do anything for me, they cut the damn death scene."

Halloween: Resurrection was directed by Rick Rosenthal, 77, and it grossed $37.6 million worldwide on a $15 million budget.

As well as Banks, the movie also starred Jamie Lee Curtis, 67, as the iconic final girl Laurie Strode, Brad Loree, 66, as Michael Myers, and Busta Rhymes, 54, as protagonist Freddie Harris.
