Last night saw the film premiere of ‘The Actress’, an independent short film produced and directed by Ben Charles Edwards in association with The Smalls, which stars Sadie Frost, Perry Benson, Sally Phillips, Fabrizio Santino and Morgana Robinson. The premiere was held at the W Hotel in Leicester Square, with full cast and Jade Williams, Georgie Okell, Jack Guiness and Zara Martin also in attendance.

This short film, ‘The Actress’, is Sadie Frost’s third acting role for the director Ben Charles Edwards, having starred in his previous short films ‘The Town That Boars Me’ and ‘Animal Charm’. Sadie has now announced that she has set up her own film production company, entitled Blonde to Black Pictures.

Sadie stated “Blonde to Black pictures is my new film production company which specialises in nurturing young talent. I am currently working with director Ben Charles Edwards on our first feature film 'Set The Thames on Fire' which will be shot in London early next year”

‘The Actress’, which will be showing at major film festivals this year, is in essence a mini history of cinema. Edwards has cleverly moved through significant decades and styles of filmmaking, from silent movie to film noir, right up to sitcom hell, which creates an intensely poignant short film. This beautifully highlights the transient nature of the industry from an actresses' perspective that is coming to terms with her old age and growing irrelevancy.
