(Cover) - EN Movies - Jake Gyllenhaal got involved in an "actual accident" on the set of End of Watch.

In the movie, Jake stars as one of two young police officers who are marked for death after confiscating a small cache of money and firearms from a notorious cartel.

Jake explained there was a genuine sense of danger on set, after he got into a real accident during one of the car chase scenes.

He says the drama was heightened by the genuine friendship he had his co-star Michael Peña during the five-month shoot.

"There is one scene we did where we got into an actual accident on set. That's not to try at home. Actually don't try any of the scenes at home, apart from the friendship ones, you can try that," Jake told BBC Radio One.

"We spent five months together making the film and by the end we were friends, genuine friends, we were together so much."

Jake continued to discuss how End of Watch is really all about friendship. He believes the genuine suspense and fear that audiences experience is created by the bond between the two police officers.

"It's a movie about two friends really, just embedded in a cop movie, about two friends who would do anything for each other, but how every time they jumped into that cop car everything was threatened," Jake continued. "It's very tense, one of my friend's went to see it and told me he held his breath through the whole scene where I go into a house where there is a dead body... there is a genuine fear you get when you see it."

Jake described how he sees acting in movies as being an easy profession to be in. The star is currently appearing in a theatre production in New York City, which he revealed is something he particularly enjoys doing.

"There is nothing hard about being an actor, but then again there is nothing harder than being on the stage," Jake explained.

"The pressure is what it's all about. It's the best part. Everyone is listening so you know you can't mess it up. And when you do, it's fun and also terrifying."
