George Lucas will marry longtime girlfriend Mellody Hobson this summer, according to a new report.
The 68-year-old Star Wars creator and his fiancée, 43, became engaged in January after seven years together.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, they are finally making plans to walk down the aisle on June 29 at the Chicago Peninsula Hotel.
New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley will reportedly give Mellody away at the ceremony.
Mellody is President of Chicago-based Ariel Investments and a chair of DreamWorks Animation.
The financial expert met George on a business conference in 2006 and the couple began dating long-distance while he lived full-time in California.
It is unclear where they plan to be based following the nuptials.
Mellody opened up about her romance with George to Oprah Winfrey last year.
"I think it works because we are extraordinarily open-minded people and we're open to what the universe brings us and I think we didn't have preconceived ideas about what a partnership should be and so we allowed ourselves to discover something that was unexpected,” she said.
A spokesperson for Lucasfilm declined to confirm wedding details.
The marriage would be Mellody’s first and George’s second.
The acclaimed director was previously married to film editor Marcia Griffin for 14 years before their union ended in 1983.
Marcia won the Oscar for editing the original Star Wars film.
The pair share an adopted daughter, Amanda. He also has two other adult children, a son and a daughter, whom the director adopted on his own.
