Thornton to contact Jolie after surgery

Billy Bob Thornton plans on contacting Angelina Jolie following her double mastectomy.

The actor revealed he wants to get in touch with his ex-wife after learning of her operation to help prevent breast cancer.

He hasn’t been speaking to his former spouse of late.

However Billy Bob highly respects her and thinks he is due to catch up with her.

“Oh of course,” he told TMZ when asked if he will be reaching out to Angelina.

The actress is engaged to marry Brad Pitt and has six children with the star.

Angelina was Billy’s fifth wife between the years of 2000 and 2003 and despite not being good friends, they still have links between them.

“No we’ve communicated but we don’t talk to each other,” he explained. “I think she is not only a tribute to mankind but she’s done so much for people.”

Billy believes Angelina’s devotion to benevolence means she should receive good favour in return.

It is a thought he has always maintained even throughout the tough times between them.

"She deserves absolutely the best in every way,” he added. “She always has, she always will in my book."

Angelina is reportedly set to undergo more surgery to further reduce the risk of her developing cancer.

The Hollywood actress revealed on Tuesday that she underwent a preventative double mastectomy. The star chose to embark on the three-month procedure after discovering she carried the BRCA1 gene which dramatically increases a woman's risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer.

In the New York Times article, entitled My Medical Choice, Angelina revealed her doctors predicted she had an 87 per cent risk of breast cancer and a 50 per cent risk of ovarian cancer.

Now People magazine are reporting that the 37-year-old star is also planning to undergo surgery to remove her ovaries.
