Tracy Morgan will undergo treatment in a medical rehabilitation centre for the next few weeks.

On Saturday June 7 the 45-year-old 30 Rock comedian was involved in a six-car accident that left him with a broken leg, femur, nose and busted ribs.

Earlier this week his health status was officially upgraded to fair condition and he is now focusing on rehabilitation.

"Tracy has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab centre, where he is expected to remain for the next few weeks," his representative revealed in a statement to People magazine.

Although he has made major leaps in the recuperation process, it is expected the star will be receiving medical care for a significant amount of time in the near future.

"While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go,” his rep added.

Tracy is father to 11-month-old daughter Maven with his fiancée Megan Wollover.

And the family is grateful for those who are supervising over his recovery.

"He and Megan wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him,” his rep said.

Tracy was riding in a limousine in New Jersey when his vehicle collided with a tractor trailer on a turnpike during the early hours of the morning. At the time of the tragedy he was travelling with four others in the back of the automobile.

Comic James McNair, who was sometimes known as Jimmy Mack, lost his life in the collision. The two passengers in the front of the vehicle were unhurt, as the tractor trailer smashed into the back of the limousine.

The driver of the truck who smashed into Tracy’s vehicle, Kevin Roper, has pled not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and assault by auto.
