Andy García’s daughter talks nudity

Andy García trusts his daughter’s artistic choices.

Dominik García-Lorido has made a name for herself as an actress over the past few years. And while her famous father prides himself on never having taken on a role that involves nudity, for Dominik it is a different story.

However, the star admits that while the prospect of stripping off on screen was daunting, Andy was incredibly supportive.

"When I did the show Magic City for Starz, in one scene I lose my virginity in the shower," Dominik said, according to the New York Daily News.

“In this scene you saw my butt and sideboob. I talked to my dad about it beforehand and got really emotional talking to him because it was the first time I had really done something like that and I really cared what my parents thought.

"We watched that scene together — me, him and my mom — and it was fine. They actually thought it was beautifully done."

Andy has starred in his fair share of romantic films over the years, but has never resorted to nudity.

However, Dominik thinks his decision to use a no-nudity clause in his contracts was perhaps mainly a sign of the times, as well as an indication of his moral standing as a father.

"My dad has never done nudity and he's done pretty well," she said. "I think nudity was a little bit more taboo when he started out and he was also already a married man with kids."

However, regardless of his opinions of on-screen nudity, 31-year-old Dominik insists Andy has now learned to cope with his daughter’s choice to bare all.

Her mother, Marivi Lorido, is also supportive of Dominik’s roles.

"They get it," she said. "I'm not a little girl anymore. He trusts me in my artistic choices."
