Nick Robinson is terrified he'll get so famous he won't realise when he's being "an a*shole".

The 20-year-old actor has appeared in TV shows such as Boardwalk Empire in the past, but his latest outing is in the eagerly-anticipated dinosaur movie Jurassic World. Although he's thrilled to be involved in the iconic franchise, Nick does get nervous when he thinks about how his life might change.

"It can be hard to get to know yourself because there's a lot of background noise. I still have a lot to learn," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "I dread that day when you don't realise you're being an a*shole. It's scary."

Nick has managed to keep his feet on the ground fine so far though, despite starting out in acting aged nine. It's always been something the star was interested in, and he believes his early years spent dreaming up characters have stood him in good stead.

"I grew up being outside a lot and you'd pick up a stick and it could become anything," he said. "I had a great imagination. And we had a big collection of VHS [tapes], so I'd watch all these movies. I picked it up as I went along. Plus, I was not good at baseball or anything like that, so when I had to get out of the house, I went to act."

Jurassic World picks up 22 years after the first movies and sees a fully-fledged theme park built on Isla Nublar. A new attraction is opened which goes horribly wrong, meaning Nick - whose character is called Zach - had to pretend to come face-to-face with dinosaurs. It seems all that time spent imagining sticks had turned into something scary was well spent.

"You are certainly allowed quite a bit of freedom, which is fun. You get free reign with your imagination and get to kind of connect the dots," he told screenrant.com. "It was challenging but at the same time it was also really fun to have free reign to do whatever you want, have this world come to life [in your head]. It was a double-edged sword, the most challenging and the most fun."
