Jaime King's representative has fired back at her estranged husband Kyle Newman's claims she is battling an opioid addiction.

The filmmaker made the allegations in documents he filed on Friday, requesting full physical custody of the couple's two sons.

A judge refused his emergency custody request, and now King's reps are fighting his accusations, telling People magazine, "This is another vicious, failed attempt of Kyle to continue his abuse of Jaime and manipulate the court system.

"Today Kyle was denied all requests for emergency orders and the judge granted Jaime shared legal custody of their two children."

The rep also reminded the media that Jaime was granted "a temporary domestic violence restraining order" against her estranged husband earlier this week after filing for divorce.

In court documents obtained by TMZ on Friday, Newman claimed King "spent the last decade high", and refused to seek proper help, quickly checking out of a rehab clinic in January following an intervention he arranged with some of her closest friends.

He also claims King has only seen her boys for three days over the last two months, because they have been self-isolating with him in Pennsylvania while King stayed in Los Angeles at the family home her husband wants her to vacate.

The judge rejected Newman's emergency request for custody on Friday and has set a court date to hear from both parties.
