The Chicago Sun-Times reports that one version of the script for the new movie sees some of the epic being shot in the windy city.

The film is set to star John Travolta as the “dapper don” mob boss John Gotti Sr.

The story will focus on the criminal and personal worlds of the gangster and his son and the difficulties they both face.

Big names are lined up to star in the movie.

As well as Travolta, Al Pacino, Kelly Preston and Ben Foster are set to star. Lindsay Lohan is rumoured to appear, but reportedly hasn’t yet signed a contract.

However, the film has faced several legal and financial woes.

According to The Chicago Sun-Times, Travolta has demanded an eight-figure pay check plus additional perks.

Because of this producer Marc Fiore is struggling to secure over-all financing.

The publication also reports that the project has been burdened with on-set bickering and squabbles between the team and the Gotti family, who have been involved since the beginning.

Earlier this year, Joe Pesci filed a lawsuit against Fiore Films.

Pesci alleged he had been hired to play Angelo Ruggiero, a role which required gaining 30 lbs. and would see him earn $3 million. The actor claims he was then given a lesser role and offered just $1 million.

Fiore, CEO of Fiore Films, has attempted to resolve the situation.

He hopes the matter will be settled soon and that Pesci will still appear in the movie.

Filming is scheduled to begin in New York City in January 2012.
