Kim Kardashian pens emotional letter to younger self

Kim Kardashian has written an emotional letter to her younger self as part of the 2022 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Editor-in-chief MJ Day announced on Monday that the reality TV star had been tapped to appear on one of the covers of the magazine for the first time.

In a note addressed to "high school senior Kim" published online, the 41-year-old reflected on the advice her late father Robert Kardashian once gave her.

"Remember what he told you? Be your best at it. No matter what you do. Be your best at it," she began the letter. "You've done that with your job. You love working retail at the clothing store and you're great at it. But know this: Throughout your life, 'it' is going to change. You're not always going to know what 'it' is or where the inspiration is going to come from, so be prepared."

Kim went on to highlight some of her achievements, including setting up her KKW Beauty business, launching shapewear company SKIMS, undertaking a four-year law apprenticeship to become a lawyer, and lobbying former U.S. President Donald Trump for prison reform.

And while she accepted that not all of her decisions would be "respected" by the public, the mother-of-four insisted that she will never stop working to achieve her goals.

"You're going to have to work harder to show people you come from a nice, normal family. It's going to take some getting used to, because in high school, you never had to deal with bullies. You have our family and our friends (yes, they're still our friends - that's why we call them the Lifers), and those are the people to lean on," Kim continued.

Despite Kim's fame, she also emphasised she has become a "more private person" and will always be pursuing the next "it".

"When you find it, you're going to do it - we're going to do it - like we always do: to the fullest," she added.
