Valerie Bertinelli files for divorce

Valerie Bertinelli filed for divorce from husband Tom Vitale last week.

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the pair had been legally separated for at least six months.

Bertinelli listed "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their breakup in late 2021, and again in the divorce documents filed in a court on Thursday.

The pair had been married for over a decade. The Hot in Cleveland actress and Vitale met in 2004, after being introduced by Bertinelli's brother Patrick. Following six years of dating, Vitale proposed, and they tied the knot in 2011.

Before marrying Vitale, Bertinelli was wed to rocker Eddie Van Halen.

Bertinelli and Van Halen wed in 1981, welcomed their son Wolfgang in 1991 and separated in 2001. Their divorce was finalised in December 2007.
