Sarah Jessica Parker felt 'worried' about working with Matthew Broderick on Plaza Suite

Sarah Jessica Parker started to feel worried about acting alongside her husband Matthew Broderick in the Broadway play Plaza Suite after people asked if working together might harm their marriage.

In a joint interview about the production with The Hollywood Reporter, the Sex and the City actress insisted she didn't have any concerns about working with her husband every evening until other people brought it up.

"Not consciously. I think we were more so thinking about the play, like, 'How are we going to do this?' And I only thought about being concerned when people ask us, 'Are you concerned that this is going to be harmful to your marriage?' And then I was worried. 'Well, should we be?'" she said. "We've never spent this much time together ever, even before we had kids. Even when we were just dating."

However, Parker noted that the time they're spending together in Plaza Suite is different as they each portray three characters every night.

"It's not like we're spending more time together talking. We're spending time together working in an alternate universe. We're not ourselves," she explained. "And we don't always go out together after the show. And now our days are freed up again. So we still have our autonomy during the day. So it's feeling more kind of like it used to. But it's been great."

The actors, who have been married since 1997, share three children - James, 19, and twin daughters, Tabitha and Marion, 12.
