(Cover) - EN Movies - Dwayne Johnson reveals that Michael Bay’s project Pain and Gain is “on the right track.”

The Transformers director has reportedly put the project on the backburner for years, as his schedule has had no flexibility for an additional shoot.

Pain and Gain is a medium budget action feature that is based on the true story of bodybuilders who turned into kidnappers in Miami, Florida.

Dwayne confirms that the feature is finally moving forward.

“It's going. We're on the right train and the right track,” Dwayne told MTV News. “Often in Hollywood, it's the right train, wrong track.”

Dwayne is elated to begin work on the film with his rumoured co-star Mark Wahlberg. The actor has been eyeing the role for a very long time.

“It's an awesome project, Pain and Gain. It's been with Michael Bay for several years now. I read it years ago; I loved it and wanted to do it then. He brought it back to me now,” Dwayne explained. “I hear Wahlberg is in talks and it looks like we're going to do it. It's a really, really cool story.”

The filming schedule has not yet been laid out, but Dwayne hopes Michael will squeeze in the shoot sometime in 2012.

“The goal would be to shoot it this year because [Michael] has [Transformers 4] to make, obviously that's a juggernaut,” Dwayne shared. “I can't wait for that. Plus, I've got [Fast and Furious Six] business [coming up], I've got to hunt Vin Diesel down and whoever else is on my list.”

Dwayne will next be seen in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, will be released in February.
