As the curtains rise at the Directors Guild of America, the 11th edition of Filming Italy Los Angeles (February 10–14, 2026) marks a triumphant milestone in the cultural exchange between Hollywood and Cinecittà. Over the last decade, this festival has evolved into an essential bridge, fostering collaborations that transcend borders and celebrate the enduring allure of Italian artistry.

Star-Studded Highlights and Prestigious Honors

This year’s festival boasts an elite roster of international talent. Leading the charge is French icon Juliette Binoche, who will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Best Director Debut Award for her work on In-I in Motion. Joining her is Rosario Dawson, set to be honored with the Filming Italy International Award, and screen legend Jacqueline Bisset.

The festival’s honorary president, Oscar-winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph, underscores the event’s prestige, while Italian actress Anna Ferzetti—fresh from her role in Paolo Sorrentino’s La grazia—serves as this year’s official ambassador.

More Than Just Screenings

Beyond the red carpet, the program features deeply moving narratives. A central highlight is the screening of Giovanni Allevi: Back to Life, a documentary chronicling the Maestro’s courageous return to music following a serious illness. The event includes a live performance and a conversation with Allevi, showcasing the festival's commitment to stories of human resilience.

Other notable guests include:

Julian Schnabel: Renowned director and artist.

Dolph Lundgren: Receiving an award for his documentary Dolph: Unbreakable.

Micaela Ramazzotti: Presenting her latest film, Elena del ghetto.

Francine Maisler: Oscar-nominated casting director for Sinners.

A Legacy of Excellence

Founded by Tiziana Rocca, one of the few women at the helm of international film festivals, Filming Italy has secured its place in history by facilitating three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Italian icons: Giancarlo Giannini, Gina Lollobrigida, and this year’s honoree, Franco Nero.

"The road is uphill," Rocca notes, emphasizing her mission to support female directors and audiovisual innovation. By helping Italian authors find international distribution and celebrating the "peculiarities of our art," Filming Italy Los Angeles continues to ensure that the "Made in Italy" brand remains a powerhouse in the heart of the American film industry.
