Anne Hathaway to dominate 2026 with five films, but which will be the biggest hit?

Anne Hathaway has featured in a film release every year bar one (2017) since 2001. Very much a Hollywood mainstay and box office draw, 2026 is shaping up to be her busiest year yet. Featuring two highly anticipated releases and a few intriguing, more low-key outings, Hathaway’s got every chance of landing at least one huge hit and maybe even a runaway sleeper success if all goes well with each release.

Greek Epic vs High Fashion Demon


Easily the two biggest films to feature Anne Hathaway in 2026 will be The Odyssey and The Devil Wears Prada 2. In fact, at least one of those is set to feature at the top of the charts as the biggest film of the year. First on the slate is a return to the big screen for Hathaway’s “Andy” in a sequel to what is now a very strong stage show.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 follows the perpetual major studio trend of digging up old hits and giving them a reboot, sequel, prequel, and the like. With Hathaway and Meryl Streep back, the flick has instant appeal among the original’s huge fan base, while Emily Blunt’s inclusion and a hit new song from Doechii and Lady Gaga also help.

In 2006, The Devil Wears Prada made over $326 million worldwide, not adjusted for inflation, and did exceedingly well in home video sales by collecting over $95 million on DVD alone. While the sequel is expected to do well enough, expectations aren’t anywhere near as high as for Hathaway’s other monster flick of 2026.

The Odyssey has all the makings of a mega blockbuster. For a start, the theme, setting, and story remain wildly popular. Ancient Greece is always of massive interest, which is why it’s spread through entertainment. Even in online bingo games, you can spot its popularity. Given the surprise runs at the box office that their flicks have famously gone on, Hathaway’s A24 movie, Mother Mary, is of most interest to cinemas right now. In it, she’ll star as a pop icon looking to make a return to stardom. However, she needs the help of her former designer, who isn’t exactly over their past traumas.

Later in the year, Hathaway will be the star of the show again, this time in the Warner Bros. Pictures science fiction film The End of Oak Street. Hathaway and Ewan McGregor find their slice of suburbia transported through a bizarre cosmic event, forcing them into survival mode.

To put a cap on the year of cinematic action for Hathaway, she’ll feature as the titular Verity in a psychological thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name. Here, Hathaway plays a bestselling author stricken by a mysterious accident. So, Josh Hartnett, her husband, brings in a new writer to try to finish her works.

So, there’ll be plenty of premieres for Anne Hathaway to attend in 2026, and while any of them could be a surprise hit at the box office, The Odyssey is almost guaranteed to be the biggest of the bunch.
