STUDIOCANAL has unveiled The Peter Sellers Centenary Collection, a physical release arriving on Blu-ray on 17th August 2026 under its Vintage Classics label. The release showcases the extraordinary range of one of Britain’s most celebrated comic talents, bringing together a carefully curated selection of the actor's finest screen performances across a pivotal era of post-war British cinema.
Presented in a stunning eight-disc boxset, the collection features a brand-new, exclusive 4K restoration of Basil Dearden's charming 1957 cinema-set comedy, The Smallest Show on Earth. This particular restoration makes its debut here, offering film enthusiasts a pristine viewing experience of the classic alongside an array of other beautifully restored features.
The anthology also contains Alexander Mackendrick’s celebrated 1955 black comedy crime caper, The Ladykillers, starring Sellers alongside Alec Guinness and Cecil Parker. Fans of political and social satire will also find Roy Boulting’s BAFTA-winning I’m All Right Jack (1959), a landmark film that earned Sellers widespread critical acclaim, alongside a 4K restoration of the witty political farce Carlton-Browne of the F.O. (1959), co-starring Terry-Thomas.
Further 4K restorations featured in the boxset include the inventive heist comedy Two-Way Stretch (1960), the Kingsley Amis romantic adaptation Only Two Can Play (1962), and the clever crime spoof The Wrong Arm of the Law (1963), which was penned by the legendary writing duo Ray Galton and Alan Simpson. The collection is rounded out by the Boulting Brothers' clerical comedy Heavens Above! (1963) and comes packaged with a brand-new 32-page booklet offering deep insights into each film.
Sellers first found fame on the iconic radio programme The Goon Show before transitioning to cinema, where his unparalleled gift for character transformation made him a household name. This new collection serves as a definitive tribute to a master of character acting, whose enduring influence continues to shape modern comedy.
