Toy Story 5 retains top spot on Official Film Chart

Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 has secured a third consecutive week at Number 1 on the UK Official Film Chart.

The animated sequel follows Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and their companions as they face new competition for their owner Bonnie's attention following the introduction of a smart tablet named Lilypad. The narrative examines the impact of digital technology and screen time on traditional play.

The top six positions on the countdown remained completely unchanged from the previous week. Erotic thriller Obsession holds firm at Number 2, followed by animated entry Minions & Monsters at Number 3. The musical biopic Michael remains at Number 4, while comedy compilation Jackass: Best and Last stays at Number 5. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie completes the static top half of the chart at Number 6.

Further down the chart, Danny Boyle’s 2002 post-apocalyptic horror 28 Days Later re-entered the Top 10 at Number 7. Starring Cillian Murphy as a courier awakening from a coma to a deserted, infected London, the film returned to the upper ranks alongside Supergirl, which climbed to Number 8.

Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu slipped one place to Number 9. Closing out the Top 10 is crime thriller Tuner, directed by Daniel Roher. Starring Leo Woodall alongside Havana Rose Liu, Jean Reno, and Dustin Hoffman, the film follows a piano tuner who uses his acute hearing skills to crack safes for organized crime syndicates.
