Disney’s live-action reimagining of Moana has sailed directly to Number 1 on the Official Film Chart, ending Toy Story 5’s three-week run at the top of the standings.
Starring Catherine Laga?aia as the title character alongside Dwayne Johnson, who reprises his role as the demigod Maui, the live-action adventure follows the courageous teenager as she answers the Ocean’s call. Together, Moana and Maui embark on an epic voyage across the open sea to restore the heart of Te Fiti and bring prosperity back to her island community.
Making the biggest move on the chart this week, Supergirl rockets six places from Number 8 up to a new peak of Number 2. Starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, the superhero feature follows her journey across the cosmos seeking justice after tragedy strikes her home world, forcing her into an unlikely partnership along the way.
Psychological thriller Obsession shifts down one spot to Number 3, while former chart-topper Toy Story 5 slides three places to Number 4. The biographical drama Michael also drops one position to round out the top five at Number 5.
Further down the countdown, 1998 cult fantasy-romance Practical Magic surges five places to land at Number 6. Starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as sister witches Sally and Gillian Owens, the film enjoys a Top 10 resurgence as audiences revisit its blend of family curses and romance. Meanwhile, Minions & Monsters drops four places to Number 7.
The week's second fresh entry comes from hit horror feature Barbarian, debuting at Number 8. The film follows a young woman arriving at an Airbnb rental only to find it double-booked by a mysterious stranger, setting off a nightmare far beyond her expectations.
Completing the countdown, animated feature Batman: Knightfall Part 1 – Knightfall climbs three places to re-enter the chart at Number 9, while The Super Mario Galaxy Movie falls four places to close out the Top 10.
