Sofia Hayat ‘Portals Of Truth’ wins Best Short Mobile Film Award

Actress Sofia Hayat produced & starred in her own spiritually inspired film during Covid. Locked down in Nice at the Hotel Negreco, Hayat filmed the short movie, entitled ‘Portals of Truth’ using just her mobile phone.

The visually stunning footage was shot on the go, with one ring light, one dress, and many creative ideas.

The film was shot and edited within a 24-hour period and explores Hayat’s spiritual journey of truth, blending it with ancient Egyptian stories and Greek myths, as an ancient High Priestess and Queen cross timelines in-order to correct the lies of the past.

For spiritual guru and former actress and nun Sofia, the film reflects another significant step on her personal journey, “being able to utilise my acting so spiritually, to reach out and share my truth with others felt freeing”.

‘Portals of Truth’ was selected for three film festivals and recently won Best Short Mobile Film at the Cult Movies International Film Festival, the piece was a semi-finalist in the London Web film festival. Sofia will also be entering ‘Portals of Truth’ for this years Cannes Film Festival.
