20th Century Studios takes home 5 nominations for Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story; whilst Walt Disney Animated Studios’ Encanto and Disney and Pixar’s Luca are nominated in the Best Animated Film Category.
Searchlight Pictures’ The French Dispatch, and Nightmare Alley receive 3 nominations each.
The Walt Disney Company received a total of 21 nominations for the EE British Film Academy Awards taking place on, Sunday, March 13, 2022.
20th Century Studios’ West Side Story, directed by Steven Spielberg, received 5 nominations including Casting, Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, Production Design and Sound. This follows Tuesday’s announcement that Ariana DeBose is one of the 5 nominees for the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award, which is voted for by the British public.
Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures achieved 2 nominations for Cruella, in Costume Design and Make Up & Hair.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto picked up 1 nomination for Animated Film, and Disney Pixar’s Luca picked up 1 nomination, also in Animated Film.
Searchlight Pictures’ The Eyes of Tammy Faye, achieved 1 nomination in Make Up & Hair, with Summer of Soul picking up 2 nominations in Documentary, and Editing. French Dispatch garnered 3 nominations in Costume Design, Original Score and Production Design. And Nightmare Alley getting the nod in 3 categories; Cinematography, Costume Design and Production Design
National Geographic’s Becoming Cousteau, and The Rescue, picked up 1 nomination each for Documentary.
