Robo-Geisha is the latest offering from the Cine-Asia label and the film can be described in one sentence: it’s a mad and utterly bizarre Kamikaze ride dipped in psychedelic colours. Yes, the movie is about Geisha-assassins afraid of nothing and it’s little wonder considering the equally bizarre, surgically added weapons they have at their disposal. How about artificial breasts filled with breast milk that’s more like acid.. Or how about napalm wigs or deadly butt blades protruding from the Geishas’ rear end..That’s only the beginning!

The main plot concerns ‘wallflower’ Yoshie (Aya Kiguchi), forever in the shadow of her beautiful Geisha sister, who treats her like a personal slave. Until one day, when both are invited to a dinner party by one of the customers, who is the son of the president of the Kageno Iron Corporation. However, the two businessmen kidnap the sisters during dinner. The son recruits and trains a vicious gang of Geisha killers (part human, part robot) in an attempt to take over the world. At first reluctant, but then sensing her chance to break out of her wallflower existence, Yoshie soon appears to be the craftiest and most merciless of them all, but gradually begins to doubt the group’s motives. That’s when ever more mayhem breaks loose, involving a gigantic castle robot in the final showdown. Say no more!

Robo-Geisha is great and gore-drenched fun from beginning to end, with jaw-dropping action sequences and choreographed fight scenes that will leave you speechless. It is also a visual feast for connoisseurs of kinky outfits, as some of the costumes are a playful combination of traditional and fetish gear.
The DVD comes in Japanese with English subtitles and an array of trailers from the Cine Asia label.
