This comedy was a box office hit upon its initial release in 1992 and is now available as a DVD & Blu-ray double set.

Leon Geller (Mark Frankel) is a rather sensitive and generally anxious young man of Jewish stock. Working as an estate agent, he has too much of a conscience to ever climb the ladder of success. When his firm decides to change a whole apartment complex, including a former home of Charles Dickens, into a leisure centre he quits!

He doesn’t fare much better with his love life, especially when he falls for eccentric and slightly unhinged artist Madeleine (ex-Bond girl Maryam D’Abo). The old adage ‘opposites attract’ proves to be a problem in this case, for Madeleine doesn’t have a drop of Jewish blood running through her veins. Leon’s family does not approve.

But fate has yet another surprise in store for the failed estate agent and his family: Leon owes his existence to artificial insemination, however, due to a mix-up in the sperm bank the actual donor turns out to be one Brian Chadwick (Brian Glover) – a pig farmer hailing from Yorkshire! Curious to find out more about his biological father, Leon embarks on a not so kosher trip in the countryside…

Leon The Pig Farmer is a wonderful and heartfelt film with wit and dry humour, while and all round excellent cast contributes warmth and emotion.

Special features on the discs include ‘The Unkindest Cut Of All’ short film, audio commentary, and theatrical trailer.
