Grab some popcorn and a coke from the food stands, turn off your brain, and relax into Hit and Run an all action comedy film written by the films lead Dax Shepard. With David Palmer and Shepard co-directing for the second time (their first film being Brother's Justice in 2010), the film stars Shepard, Kristen Bell, Kristin Chenoweth, Tom Arnold, and Bradley Cooper.

A former getaway driver for a gang of bank robbers ( Dax Shepard) busts out of his Witness Protection Program identity in order to help his girlfriend (Kristin Bell) get to Los Angeles for an interview for a once in a lifetime job opportunity. Once alerted, his former gang led by Bradley Cooper are after them along with his girlfriends former boyfriend and inept United States Marshal (Tom Arnold) who has been assigned to him. What follows is a high octane fuelled race to L.A with car chases galore along the way.

With an all star cast this film feels like it should be a lot better than it is. The laughs are from the low end of the spectrum (not a bad thing) but they are often lazy and lack sharpness. It’s a film made by a lot of friends and it feels like it. This is maybe why it misses its targets at crucial times. Shephards character comes across as an unsympathetic man child who sulks the second something isn't going his way. A character that Adam Sandler spent numerous movies portraying. That aside, Kristen Chenoweth and Bradley Cooper are the highlights of the film and for them alone this is worth a watch. Sure the laughs are cheap but there are some very good moments, there are also some pimping car action scenes and you aren't being asked to sit and watch for too long. If that's your thing........Enjoy!
