Hi everyone so who loves horror movies. Who loves being scared out of their wits and making mess in their pants (due to fear not fun of course) well if you saying ‘ Yes me me me here please me ‘ while waving your hand in the air, then this new service is just for you.
So what's the story here – well this new service has been designed by a horror buff for other horror lovers. Its designed around a small cinema like experience as you enter the web site and then you can pick either a film of a bundle of films for a fee. There is no monthly subscription like other similar providers and the selection because its purely for the horror genre is more extensive with selections of movies that you just wouldn’t find anywhere else, unless that is your trawling through the bottom of a blockbuster 5 pound DVD basket. Of course they have the new big budget movies but also and this was what I found really interesting some of the short movies that are often seen on You Tube or at film festivals that if you didn’t know about simply wouldn’t see. I say your missing something if you miss out on these however.
Why do I say that ?
Well as part of the launch the team that brings you the VOD service screened HIM IN DOORS a short film Directed by Paul Davis about a serial killer with agoraphobia played by Reece Shearsmith who as in his work with the League of Gentlemen brings a wacky and at times comical twist to mind of this particularly disturbed serial killer. What a great concept how does a serial killer with agoraphobia who can’t go out kill people. Does he invite people round for parties, put an ad in the paper for willing victims for intimate murder and dismemberment? You’ll have to watch and see.
The next film they screened was, White of The eye a classic 80’s serial killer with a twist on red Indian mysticism and hunting. I liked the movie although that was more because it took me back to my childhood and you can’t help but laugh at the silly haircuts and huge shoulder pads, what on earth were those feather/ furry sexy slippers that women was wearing?.
Anyway they have lots of films on the site that you either remember fondly and would love to watch again or if you’re interested in finding something new I am sure there is something for everyone’s taste.
So next time when you’re on the computer check out the site and download a whole movie or a bundle of shorts to watch on the train or even in the Loo while you’re at work just don’t scream too much or someone may wonder what you’re doing in there.
