HPHBP may delight fans. Personally, I'm not a fan, but not 'Anti-Potter', as such. Having not read Rowling's books and only seen film adaptations, there's no denying that this is a kid's perfect action film.

Acceptable acting results from the younger cast members and sublime performances from the seasoned members of the British acting fraternity. In particular, Michael Gambon and Alan Rickman pay justice to their roles (expected given their calibre).

The problem with the film is it lacks a distinct beginning, middle and end which can occur in some film trilogies. Aside from this, the dark tone and pacing of Potter is superb and the action scenes are also highly engaging.

Whilst the Potter films may not compete with some timeless classics (excluding the recent efforts from George Lucas), this is perhaps the strongest of them yet.
