Johnny Depp 'doesn't want to hurt ex'

Johnny Depp is adamant he won't let his new relationship hurt Vanessa Paradis.

The Hollywood hunk is dating his The Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard - although neither party has confirmed the relationship.

Johnny split with long-time partner Vanessa before embarking on a romance with Amber, and the actor is said to be wary of how his new relationship will make his ex partner feel.

Johnny and Amber reportedly rekindled their romance recently after splitting at the start of the year after realising the "strong" feelings between them.

"Johnny's besotted with Amber and sees a future with her. Even after their split they were still constantly on the phone and meeting up in secret - there is a strong bond between them," a source told British magazine Closer.

"Johnny knows how hard it was for Vanessa to hear he'd moved on with Amber last year, so he wanted to save her as much pain as possible when he started seeing Amber again. He still cares about Vanessa deeply. Amber also doesn't want to be seen as 'the other woman' which played a huge part in their split at the start of the year."

Johnny - who has two children with Vanessa - is also said to be helping Amber with her Hollywood career.

"Johnny wants to give Amber a bite of the apple with Hollywood. She's on the cusp of making it big. She's sexy, interesting and on Johnny's arm, she's the new It-girl actress," an insider revealed.

"She reminds people of an early Angelina Jolie when she was risqué. Johnny's going to make sure she moves her career forwards."
