Jason Biggs has joked his baby boy loves playing with items “he pulled from recycling”.

The 36-year-old American Pie actor welcomed son Sid with his wife Jenny Mollen in February 2014.

And their 14-month-old is currently playing with some pretty strange items.

“He is getting into cars. And he has a ducky with wings that flap that he loves,” Jason told People magazine. “But his favourite toys end up being a coffee cup that he pulled from recycling. Or an empty Perrier bottle.”

Sid took his first steps recently, to the delight of his parents.

But Jason reveals the event wasn’t traditional in any fashion.

“Jenny was in the bathroom and Sid had the toilet paper,” the proud father recalled. “She was like, ‘Come here, I need that,’ so he took two steps towards her. It was very funny. Very appropriate.”

Jason has supported charity Milk + Bookies for quite some time, a philanthropic organisation dedicated to providing children in need with books.

Reading is really important in their family, especially since matriarch Jenny is a New York Times best selling author, and Sid seems to be enjoying one tome in particular.

“Reading was part of his bedtime routine from the very beginning. I’m excited to get Sid involved and have some Milk + Bookies parties too. He loves The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” Jason gushed, before joking: “And, the screenplay for American Pie. That’s pretty much all he reads.”

Jason and his family are currently residing in New York City because he is starring in Broadway play The Heidi Chronicles, a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama that is currently being shown at the Music Box Theatre.
